How To Get Involved?

We receive no grant funding, and rely entirely on the contribution of volunteers and the income that we generate by providing services to the public. There are many opportunities to get involve with Chestnuts Community Centre. The space is a hub for the local community and is always in search of volunteers. We are particularly looking for volunteers to help us refurbish the building and will shortly be recruiting volunteers to work in the office. Mission Statement/Purpose

Chestnuts Community Centre is a resource for local residents and community groups. We offer space to hire for classes, meetings, events and social activities. We aim to create an atmosphere that is caring, friendly, welcoming and accepting and provide services to a wide range of individuals and groups from different backgrounds, lifestyles, languages, creeds and beliefs. We believe that it is important for those who come to the Centre to be encouraged to have a positive self image and to grow in confidence and ability.

Charity Profile

The Chestnuts Community Centre was set up to help the lack of facilities in the area, regenerate interest in the community and develop an environment that is caring whilst reflecting the diversity of the community. Chestnuts Community Centre has been functional since 1985. The centre provides community space for the local residents, community organizations as well as public and private companies within the Haringey Borough. In 1992, Chestnuts was at the risk of closure, but due to the hard work and commitment of the present management committee and volunteers it is now a sustainable centre serving the community. At the moment, we are particularly keen to receive donations of paint, brushes and other equipment to help us decorate the Chestnuts building.
