Mission Statement/Purpose

o The Charity’s Objects (the Objects) are the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation in particular by the provision of facilities for the playing of rugby league football o Ensuring everyone is treated equally and give everyone the opportunity to participate in sport.

Charity Profile

Higginshaw ARLFC Est 1896 is more than just a rugby club - Based in the St. Mary's area of Oldham, Higginshaw ARLFC is an organisation run by volunteers and its main purpose is to promote of the sport of rugby league throughout the local community to ensure every child or adult has the chance to participate in team sports and be inclusive in the sporting community. They have recently taken on from St Stephen’s Procial Church Council the building known as Higginshaw Sports & Social Club which was formally St Stephen’s & All Martyrs School. Having previously rented part of this building for the last 25 years, with the church having control of the community centre, which for the last 8 years has been left open to the elements due to mixture of vandalism and lack of TLC, the church have now handed whole building to the club with a view of bringing it back into use for the whole community. It is a big opportunity for the club to invest in the future and to be in charge of their own destiny and masive opportunity to take Higginshaw ARLFC forward and expand the youth section of the club and get more young people on the Higginshaw area involved in sport.
